WHO CUT THIS SQUARE INTO PIECES?  

Chinese monks did that about three thousand years ago thus creating the worldwide known game for children and adults. What is that game?      

It’s Tangram. It consists of seven elements: one square, one rhombus, and five triangles. The objective of the game is to form a specific shape from the enclosed book, using all seven elements. They need to be placed flat and they need to touch. It is not that simple, because the shapes in the book do not have clear-cut lines to help visualize the elements used. You need to use your imagination and think hard to form the same shape. Tangram is a great way to excite imagination. It helps develop logical thinking and introduces geometrical figures into child’s world. The realm of mathematics becomes wide open.  As the toy is simple in use but requires thinking, it can interest the adults as well.
